The Location (My Wedding)

The hardest part of planning my Parisian fairytale was deciding on a location.  I knew I wanted the ceremony to take place on a terrace the overlooked the Eiffel Tower, but finding something that matches this description at a reasonable price is very difficult...actually, impossible.

I searched for what felt like ages for the perfect setting for our ceremony until I found Les Jardins Plein Ciel panoramic terrace at the Hotel Raphael.  I actually cried when I found it! I knew it was where I wanted to get married.  The only thing standing in my way was the price.  I debated booking it for a long time, but in the end I figured I'm only getting married once so I might as well have what I really want!  No regrets.

The Les Jardins Plein Ciel terrace is actually a restaurant terrace that you can book for private events.  Not only does it overlook the Eiffel Tower, but it also overlooks the Arc de Triomphe.  The terrace is also covered with lavendar and rose bushes which makes it even more beautiful (and no need for floral arrangements!).  It was perfect.

After the ceremony, we booked a minibus and private tour guide to take our guests on a city tour of Paris while my husband and I had our wedding photography taken around Paris.  Following our photographs we met our guests at the reception location.

For the reception we booked the Salon Marie Antoinette at the Hotel de Crillon.  Rumor has it that Marie Antoinette once took piano lessons in that very room.  The Salon also has a magnificant terrace that overlooked Place de la Concorde and the Eiffel Tower.  We could watch the tower sparkle every hour as we sipped wine and champagne and ate our delicious meal.

More wedding pictures tomorrow!

  1. Hi! My fiance and I are looking at possibly doing our ceremony at this location and have been looking for information about it. We've just recently contacted the hotel and are waiting for them to get back to us. I was wondering if you'd be willing to share any information about the Jardins Plein Ciel or your experience and the people who worked with you there. Was it as beautiful as the photos? Did you stay at the hotel after the wedding?
