Parking in Paris

I’m not sure people in Paris know how to park their cars.  It’s probably due to the utter lack of space where you are able to actually park them, but it is nonetheless amazing.  I remember sitting at the Les Deux Magots last year for lunch and watching a SUV back straight into a black mustang.  You could hear the *bump* as the two cars collided, but nobody in sight seemed to acknowledge it.  The driver of the SUV simply shifted into gear and moved his vehicle a foot or so forward.  It’s funny how you can look at the front end of pretty much every car in Paris and they are all dented or scratched.  For instance, look at these cars below:

It doesn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary from the picture above, but look at the picture below -- their bumpers are an inch apart! I don’t know how they would get out of this predicament without an accident of some sort.

My suggestion if you are on vacation in Paris: walk or take the subway!

Romantic Rosettes

I was taking a peek over at Hostess with the Mostess the other day when I stumbled across this gorgeous dessert table by Kalice Events.

I am in love with the rosette backdrop and the sweet stands with the hanging crystals.  The little details like the birdcage and the paper hearts on sticks are very appealing.  Plus, those meringues look so scrumptious!

Diet Coke Limited Edition Collection by Karl Lagerfeld

Last year Coca-cola collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of Chanel, to develop an exclusive design for Diet Coke based on Mr. Lagerfeld’s trademark style.

2010 campaign

This year he’s back creating not one, but three signature bottles for Diet Coke.  All three bottles feature Mr. Lagerfeld’s instantly recognizable silhouette and are numbered one through three to make them true collectibles for any fashion forward female.

Karl Lagerfeld not only designed the bottles for the Diet Coke Limited Edition Collection by Karl Lagerfeld, but he also shot the campaign featuring models Coco Rocha Heidi Mount and Jeneil Williams.

On the campaign, here’s wait Mr. Lagerfeld had to say: "It's exciting for me because I love the idea and as everybody knows, I drink Diet Coke and nothing else, night and day. It was pure pleasure to do a campaign with people I like and for a product I love."

Did you know?

In certain countries, the term "diet" is not used to describe low-calorie foods and beverages. In these countries, there is Coke/Coca-Cola light.  The sweetener blend used for Coke/Coca-Cola light is formulated for each country based on consumer preference.

Fashion Friday: Inspiration Dior

Now through July 24 the Pushkin Museum in Moscow is hosting the “Inspiration Dior” exhibition.

Christian Dior was a lover of art and artists.  He opened a gallery in Paris in 1928 and was only 23 when he showed Picasso, Klee, and Giacometti.

In 1947, when he became a couturier, he expressed his love of art in each of his designs.  Like a master painter, Christian Dior created a world of splendour, transforming women into myriad touches of colour or magnificent flowers.

In the “Inspiration Dior” exhibition, Dior’s celebration of femininity is mirrored in works by the greatest artists of past and present – from Henri Matisse to Marc Quinn, Pablo Picasso to Jeff Koons, and Kazimir Malevish to Olga Kisseleva.

If you won’t be in Russia before July 24th, you can still experience the exhibition by visiting the Inspiration Dior website and taking the 360˚ Visit.
